Lilly and Coco's first litter with us was full of cuties. We had a bit of drama finding them new homes, though.
Turtle went to an amazing home, and made friends with a dog that matched her colours. It was amazingly cute. But the reason her owner got her was as a friend for her current house bunny. Unfortunately the two didn't agree, and the owner did the right thing in returning her to us. She ended up finding a home with Ruin.
Harley and Lava were this biggest drama. We found them a home with a lovely pair of ladies that seemed thrilled to have their new buns. Yet barely a week later, I found them on Gumtree for more money than we'd sold them for (we gave them a HUGE deal to take both boys, as they were so bonded). I was a little upset that they'd not been the boys forever home, but if they wanted to make a profit off them I couldn't do much to stop them. But they hadn't mentioned on the ad that the boys were hand raised, nor explained what that could mean for their gut health. So I made an account and messaged the girls, asking what the buns were eating and all that.
I was not impressed. They were being fed cheap muesli mix from the supermarket (not great for rabbits, and ESPECIALLY for buns that have been hand raised and could have easily upset stomachs from changes in food). Not to mention she'd barely had them a week and had already changed their food source entirely, against my advice. So Tymikka went to pick up the buns. The girls never recognised her, thankfully, and she acted nice. We paid full price for the boys, more than we'd sold them for, but it was worth it to make sure our babies were given a proper chance.
They had no food at all when Tymikka got there, the girls claimed they needed to go shopping tomorrow (and were just going to starve the buns until then, apparently). There was NO hay, apparently the rabbits didn't get fed ANY hay at all. Apparently they'd also been bathed. When we found them new homes shortly after, the new owners let us know that Harley had hair so thoroughly mattedinto clumps, the vet may have to remove the lot to avoid infection.
Thank goodness he found a great home, and got to stay with our Lava boy that was a big favourite at the rabbitry.
